Stressful dream by MaryElin Macht,posted Mar 29 2012 10:25AM
I had a very stressful dream last night...stressful for a radio announcer.
In the dream, I went to a clothing store and was shopping and then realized that I hadn't told anyone I'd be late for work. It was almost time to play Q-No and I had no phone to call the station. I was trapped in the store. Stress! All I could think of was that the song would end and there would be dead air and no one to get Q-No on the air. There were other random things that happened in the dream, but the most stressful part was the feeling of not being able to get to the station in time.
When my alarm went off for real at 5 am, I continued to hit snooze until 6 am. At 6 am, I set my alarm to 6:30 am and at 6:30 am I started hitting snooze again. I think this whole busy month and lack of sleep is catching up with me.
Since I didn't get up as early, I feel like I'm already running behind today on what I needed to get done before school/work. Now I'm asking myself if it was worth hitting snooze for so long. Ever have those days? mmacht@yourQ102.com
We had a little excitement yesterday when we got home from school. I was getting out of the car and Madeline started screaming. I look back and she had slammed the car door all the way shut on one finger. Ouch! It looks pretty tough and doesn't feel great, but she's been a good patient.
I caught the last half hour of The Biggest Loser last night. Wow! It's amazing how much the contestants have changed in the weeks I've missed. Lucky Kim won $7,000 for losing 7 lbs this week.
Check out the Eagle cam. One eaglet hatched and two others are expected to arrive within a week.
Live Video app for Facebook by Ustream I know it's only Wednesday, but for as many things as we've had going on this week, I feel like it could already be Friday. Have a great day!
Lost track by MaryElin Macht,posted Mar 27 2012 9:51AM
I've lost track lately of The Biggest Loser on NBC. Conda soured my attitude about this season and then it seems we always have something going on Tuesday nights. Have you been watching? Has Conda improved? Fill me in. mmacht@yourQ102.com I did find this preview for tonight's episode with a cash incentive.
Congratulations by MaryElin Macht,posted Mar 26 2012 11:06AM
Congratulations to the BBE Boys on their State Championship! What a thrill! Congratulations to the Litchfield Boys on their 2nd place finish at State. It's always exciting to have area teams make it to the State Tournament.
Thank YOU for supporting Radio For Relief on Friday to benefit the Willmar Area Food Shelf. They serve people in Kandiyohi County. During our 4 hour broadcast, 6,609 lbs and $34,891 was donated! AWESOME!
It feels cold today with the wind so strong. We've been spoiled otherwise this March, so I'll keep my complaining to a minimum.
I typically stink at playing games. My family enjoys playing all kinds of games on all kinds of gaming systems and I normally sit out from that.
My sister-in-law Jennifer introduced me to Words With Friends and we play that together, but now I have a new favorite game to play on my phone. I discovered it on Friday when I went to my app store and was looking for free games.
It's called Dr. Seuss' The Lorax Truffula Shuffula. The Lorax is fresh on my mind since we saw that movie and I love the colors of the trees so I loaded the app and now I'm addicted. It's a pretty easy game so that's appealing to me and my poor gaming skills. I find it relaxing and with a name like Truffula Shuffula you can't go wrong. I was bragging to my family about my first high score and it wasn't long until they started playing and left me in the dust. That's alright. I'll keep playing. Give it a try if you're looking for a free game. Let me know what you think or recommend other games you think I'd enjoy. mmacht@yourQ102.com
The countdown is on to Radio For Relief! I'm so excited! I'm not actually at the live broadcast because I'm back in the studio running the controls, but I love listening to Radio For Relief. Your generorsity has been amazing the past years when we have done Radio For Relief and I'm sure you will impress us again this year.
We are grateful for every donation that helps the Willmar Area Food Shelf serve people right here in Kandiyohi County. I hope you'll consider giving whatever you are able to give. Maybe it's a donation of non-perishable food. Maybe it's a cash donation. It all adds up fast! With your $5 cash donation, the Willmar Area Food Shelf can feed a family of three for three days! That's impressive how they stretch cash. Find out more about Radio For Relief HERE!
Strange by MaryElin Macht,posted Mar 19 2012 11:11AM
What a strange winter this has been. I'm not complaining because I'm not a big fan of winter driving so this winter has been amazing for stress-free drives.
It was a lot of fun over the weekend to see neighborhoods full of outside activities. Our street was busy with basketball, kids playing at the park, walkers, bikers, etc. It's a good reminder to be more alert when we're driving to kids playing who might come running onto the street at a moments notice.
Tonight ABC's Dancing With The Stars starts the 14th season! Will you be watching? It's hard to keep up with all the shows I enjoy, especially when the weather is so nice and you want to be outside.
I hope you have a great start to your week! Thanks for listening to Q102 and remember to let me know your song requests for Your Music Cafe with Grizzly's Grill 'N Saloon. You can call 235-1025 or e-mail lunch@yourQ102.com

I'm not sure how this happened so fast, but my baby girl turns 7 today. Happy Birthday Madeline!
We had "Bieber Fever" on Saturday for Madeline's birthday party with friends. I walked into the bowling alley carrying a Justin Bieber balloon and got some excited looks and even some squeals from other young girls. Guess they have "Bieber Fever" too. This weekend we'll celebrate Madeline's birthday with family.
Fired up by MaryElin Macht,posted Mar 8 2012 10:07AM
I'm fired up (in a good way) about several things right now.
I'm looking forward to this weekend for the 34th Annual KWLM Spring Show at the Willmar Civic Center. We're also going to squeeze in Madeline's kid birthday party on Saturday. She'll turn 7 next Wednesday! How can that be?
I'm also fired up about Radio For Relief. It's exciting to hear from local businesses and organizations that are doing stuff ahead of time to collect cash and food donations to bring to Radio For Relief. If you haven't let us know what you're doing yet, please send me a message mmacht@yourQ102.com and fill me in so we can promote it on air.
I hope you'll consider donating. The Willmar Area Food Shelf can really stretch your cash donations. With a $5 donation, they can feed a family of three for three days! They serve people in Kandiyohi County.
As a family each year we make a cash donation and let our kids know how many families they are helping. Our kids also participate in a food drive at MACCRAY East where the students donate the stuff to Radio For Relief. This year MACCRAY East will be having theme collection days like "PB & J Day" , "Noodle Wednesday", "Can It Thursday", "Finance Friday" and "Treat Tuesday".
You can make a difference too! Please stop by with your cash and food donations for the Willmar Area Food Shelf on Friday, March 23rd from 6 - 10 am at the Willmar Fire Station Parking Lot.
Long time by MaryElin Macht,posted Mar 5 2012 11:20AM
It's been a long time since I could say that I was at the number one movie at the box office. That's mostly because I don't get to the theater very often.
Yesterday afternoon though we had a family movie outing and enjoyed The Lorax. The movie, which is based on Dr. Seuss' popular book, pulled in 70.7 million dollars during its first weekend, giving it the biggest debut of the year. We all enjoyed it in 3D.
