Thanks for your tips Wednesday night at Pizza Ranch. We had a lot of fun and raised $371 for the American Cancer Society!
There's still time to donate and help my fundraising efforts for Relay For Life. Click HERE for my donation page. We also have luminaries available at our studios for a suggested donation of $10. They will be placed around the track at Relay For Life July 20-21st at the Willmar Middle School Track. You can decorate your own or choose a pre-decorated one.
What's going on for you this weekend? Madeline is involved in her first play through Willmar Community Ed and Rec so we'll get to enjoy seeing Rapunzel twice this weekend at the Barn Theatre. Have a great weekend!
It's going to be too hot to make supper at home tonight, so come have supper at the Pizza Ranch in Willmar! From 5 - 8 pm tonight (Wed. 6/27) our Relay For Life team will be cleaning up tables and working for your tips/donations. We're giving all the tips/donations to the American Cancer Society. We appreciate your support! I can't wait to see you tonight!
WOW Weekend by MaryElin Macht,posted Jun 25 2012 8:33AM
It was a WOW weekend for Willmar Fests. Friday night our family went to the Willmar Stingers game for Q102/Willmar Fests night. James and Tim helped the candidates participate in some silly contests in between innings. Andrew and Madeline had a great time too. Madeline had been walking around and came back to say that she was going to run the bases. I tried to explain that would happen for kids at the end of the game, but she said that the lady told her to come now. I let her go and the next thing you know she’s on the field running from 2nd base to 1st base to get dressed in an adult sized baseball uniform and then running to home (while losing the pants, shoe, etc.). It was fun to see. The boy that was running from 2nd base to 3rd base to home got there before Madie did. Looked like they both had a great time. Friday night’s game was like the Energizer Bunny—it just kept going and going and going. Finally at 11:30 I called it quits and headed home knowing I had to be up at 5:30 am to get to work Saturday morning. The kids didn’t want to leave until the end so James stayed with them until it ended just after midnight with a Stingers win. Here are some pictures from the night.

Saturday was fun being on the air in the morning and evening as we got ready for WOW—Works Over Water. The weather was amazing (thankful for that)! Thanks for the nice comments about Works Over Water. We’re happy to be able to put on such a big fireworks show for Willmar Fests.
Sunday afternoon we had family pictures with my parents and brother’s family. Again the weather was amazing (thankful for that)!
It truly was a WOW weekend! Hope yours was the same.
Another busy summer week is underway for us with baseball, theater, appointments, etc.
I’m looking forward to this Wednesday night from 5 -8 pm when our Q102/KWLM/Big Country/The Train Relay For Life team will be working TIP night at the Pizza Ranch in Willmar. Bring your crew and eat at the Pizza Ranch and you’ll be able to TIP us as we clean your tables up throughout the night. All the TIPS we earn will go to the American Cancer Society. Tell your friends, family, co-workers, etc! We want to be busy working this Wednesday night from 5 – 8 pm. If you aren’t able to attend, but would like to support my fundraising efforts for the American Cancer Society, you can donate HERE.
Thanks!
I will be out of the office on Tuesday all day for a meeting, so I’ll chat with you again on Wednesday.
I'm a graduate! by MaryElin Macht,posted Jun 18 2012 10:42AM
I’m a graduate of National Box Tops University!
What a fun adventure I had this past Thursday and Friday as I attended this event for my first time. I brought Marcia—our director of first impressions with—and we had a great time with 650 other Box Tops coordinators/guests from across the country. We considered ourselves pretty lucky that it was only a two hour drive for us. We met people who had driven from as far away as Texas just to be part of the event!
On Thursday night General Mills hosted us at their corporate headquarters and we even got to enjoy samples in the Betty Crocker Kitchen! Friday’s events were held at the Minneapolis Convention Center. It was a full day of learning from members of the Box Tops team and coordinators were able to share their ideas and questions. They spoiled us too with tons of giveaways including two trips to Disney World (I wasn’t lucky enough to win that).
The best part was that just for attending Marcia and I each received 100 eBox Tops for MACCRAY East and through contests during the day we won over 700 more Bonus Box Tops! We walked away with almost $100 in Box Tops for school!
Thanks to General Mills and partners for continuing the Box Tops For Education program. I’m even more passionate about it now! If you’re not involved in helping collect for your school yet, get more information HERE or send me a message with questions. mmacht@yourQ102.com I love to chat about it!

Thaw out by MaryElin Macht,posted Jun 12 2012 8:33AM
I'm finally starting to thaw out this morning after sitting outside at Andrew's baseball game for a couple of hours last night. You sure couldn't tell it was June with the cool temp and the gale force winds. What a change from 90 degrees on Saturday!
How's your week going? This is a week where I had to write down a schedule for each day to make sure that I know where I'm supposed to be getting my kids (or where my parents are getting my kids for me while I'm at work). I bet your summer schedule is going full speed ahead too!
This will be a short work week for me. I'm taking Thursday and Friday off. Thursday morning I'm going to Summer Rec games for Madeline and Andrew. Then I'm going back to school. Kinda.
Thursday afternoon and all day Friday I'm attending National Box Tops University in Minneapolis. When I tell people about it, most never knew something like that existed. I only found out about it last summer after it had already happened and promised myself if I got the chance to go that I would. I'm so excited! People come from all across the United States to attend this. I'm looking forward to learning more ways to improve our Box Top collecting at school and getting ideas from other coordinators. I'm hoping to get some pictures I can share on my blog when I get back.
Life has been full of fun lately. Here are some recent pics.
Madeline's 1st grade class won an ice cream party
for collecting the most Box Tops. We surprised them
with this Box Tops cake that my sister-in-law Sarah
made. Love it!
MACCRAY East was 1 of only 35 schools in MN
to host a mini-Relay For Life event to benefit
the American Cancer Society. They raised over $1,800!
I'm so proud of our school and students!
Family pic by the tree we planted when Andrew
was born 11 years ago!
Today is the last day of school for our kids. I'm still not sure how a school year can go by that fast! Summer activities like Bible School, baseball, playing with friends, etc. will keep us running.
What are you most looking forward to this summer? I'd love to hear from you. mmacht@yourQ102.com
Thank you so much for coming to Lillians yesterday to support our Relay For Life team fundraiser. It was so much fun to see everyone! I found a great scarf I'm already wearing today and a fun new handbag. If you weren't able to attend, but would still like to donate to our Relay For Life team--you can do that HERE. We have another fundraiser planned for Wednesday, June 27th from 5 - 8 pm at Pizza Ranch in Willmar. That night we'll be working for your tips and giving them to the American Cancer Society.
I honestly don't know how it happened so fast, but today Andrew turns 11! It seems just like yesterday we became parents. We have a busy weekend with a friend sleepover tonight, baseball practice tomorrow, our nephew Emmitt's 2nd birthday party tomorrow and Andrew's family party on Sunday. Enjoy your weekend!
