Kid voices

We've been having a fun time playing "Making The Grade" with Kandi Mall to help you with your back to school shopping. Ever wonder who the kids are that are the voices for the students on the bus? I know a couple of them.
Our kids Andrew and Madeline were two of the voices for 6th and 2nd grade. Our nieces Grace and Callie were two of the voices too. We also recorded many kids that were at the Kandiyohi County Fair. They all did a great job!
Here's a picture from when some of them visited one of our production studios to record. Girl power!
As of this morning there were still two students left on the bus to be matched for you to win a $50 gift card from a participating Kandi Mall merchant. Good luck!

Fun?

How much fun are you having? I saw a new study today that said the majority of women wish they had more fun in their lives. What's your idea of fun? I'd love to hear from you. mmacht@yourQ102.com This study also found that a third of women admitted they've posted stories of fictionalized fun on their social media pages? Ever do that? Weekend pics

We had a great day at the Minnesota State Fair on Friday. It was hot, but we still managed to spend
7 hours strolling around the fairgrounds. We enjoyed two performances by Tonic Sol-Fa, watched KARE 11 News and even made it on TV a couple of times in the crowd shots and fit some food in too.
I had to have my favorite pronto pup and then tried these things too.
Deep fried apple pie--amazing!
Cheeseburger sticks--so filling only could eat two of them
We brought home a bucket of Sweet Martha's cookies
for our families. A woman walked up to me and
gave me $1 to have three cookies.
Saturday was a great day in Raymond for the Harvest Festival. I did the 5K Run/Walk (walking) in the morning. Madeline and my niece Callie were my helpers in the parade.
Sunday we finally did our school supply shopping. That doesn't take long to add up, does it? We ended the day with a Dr. Who marathon with my friend Carrie.

New Fair Food

Will you be going to the Minnesota State Fair this year? I've been going to the fair at least one day a year since 1995. I love the entertainment, people watching and of course the food!
If you're wondering what new food will be available when the fair starts this Thursday--click HERE for a complete list. The Bacon Ice Cream has caught my attention, but I'm usually not too wild on my food choices when I'm there.

During my week off I ended up at the Iowa State Fair. We had fun, but I rate our Minnesota State Fair much higher! Have you experienced any other state fair? What makes ours better? mmacht@yourQ102.com

Vacation pictures

We had a wonderful week off! We spent Sunday through Wednesday in Duluth and then the boys spent until Sunday in Alexandria while Madeline and I went to Des Moines with the girls. I think I could use another vacation to catch up from this vacation. It's good to be back!

Fun at the fair...now vacation

What a great two days we've already had at the Kandiyohi County Fair! You still have today and tomorrow (Friday and Saturday) to go. Please support your local fair and all the hard work that is put into it. It was great to see you last night while serving free sweet corn from our sister station KWLM. Ben Taylor will be there today (Friday) from 3 - 6 pm.
I highly recommend watching the pig races at 5, 7 and 9. We are sponsoring them and it was very entertaining and fun for kids and adults to watch and be part of the games.
We'll be at the Stingers game on Saturday night and then our family vacation starts Sunday morning. Talk to you again on August 20th! Good luck playing "Making The Grade" with Kandi Mall and remember to register for "Your Concert Getaway" to Demi Lovato from Q102.

We had a great time last night for National Night Out in Raymond. The weather was perfect to spend a couple hours outside visiting with neighbors and other Raymond residents. Our electricity went out for a couple of hours during the event. We were lucky enough to have ours restored before 9 pm, but it looked like a couple of our neighbors still might have been without this morning.

Change of plans

How was your weekend? My weekend plans changed, but it all worked out anyway. Saturday's Wisconsin trip was postponed since my friend's son wasn't feeling the best...poor little guy. I was still able to spend the day with my best friend and we went to Alexandria and had a relaxing day and evening.
Sunday after church we were running errands when I found out that someone was sick and couldn't work so I worked Sunday afternoon/evening. Somehow the weekend still felt like it was long.
This is going to be another packed week with something going on everyday (besides work). I'm excited about the Kandiyohi County Fair. I'll be there Wednesday afternoon talking with some of the exhibitors. Find out the complete fair schedule HERE.
This Sunday we officially kick off our family vacation....the countdown is on!

Last night we had a family fun night for Lakeland Broadcasting at the Big Kahuna in Spicer. It truly was fun! Here's a couple of pics.
