Falling to Earth

It finally worked! Austrian base jumper and all around daredevil, Felix Baumgartner, had been preparing for this moment for five years. Jumping out of a balloon about 23 miles above earth and falling faster than the speed of sound. The original jump date was about a week ago, but wind kept delaying. The conditions finally cooperated on Sunday which was also the anniversary of the date Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier in an aircraft. Wow. Here's a video of some highlights of the jump. Looking 23 miles down over the earth and letting go... just gives me the chills. But he did it! Way to go!

Adele's Skyfall

Today is James Bond Day as the 50th anniversary of the film franchise. Can you name all 6 actors who have played Bond? Adele sings the theme song for the upcoming Bond film, Skyfall. Here is what Adele called one of the proudest moments of her life.

Prius Camping

Perhapys surprisingly this Prius camper thing did not come to us from Seattle or even Scandinavia, but a company in Japan. They have crafted a prototype of this cozy "Prius Relax Cabin" which they showed off at a Tokyo auto show recently. It's kind of like a pick up camper for your car. I read that Saab had a Toppola camper back in the day very similar to this Relax Cabin which can apparently sleep four and costs $52,000. If you're like me, you'll want to see what it looks like inside, so here is a link to more pictures. Personally I think it looks ridiculous, but there is something fun and even romantic about driving your home on wheels. And most campgrounds have plenty of plug-ins to charge up your Prius. Think it'll come to the U.S.?
