Today is my Friday at work because tomorrow I'm going on another field trip. This time with 6th grade MACCRAY students. We'll be going to the Cities for a couple of stops including a visit to the Minnesota State Capitol. It's been years since I've been there so I'm looking forward to it. Lisa will be on-air for me Friday.
Do you have big plans for Memorial Day weekend? I'm going to be spending a lot of time counting up the Box Tops For Education that have been turned this week as we are in the final days of our school year contest at MACCRAY East. I'm so excited because it looks like we went over our goal!
We are going full speed ahead! Soon the school year will be over. That means the next days are full of activity.
I had a great time this past Friday on the 2nd grade field trip with Madeline. We toured Coborn's in Montevideo, Pioneer Village in Montevideo, had lunch and played at Smith Park, then toured the Yellow Medicine Quarry in Granite Falls, a DQ Dilly Bar stop and then back to school just in time for the end of the school day. It's very interesting to tour area places and get a behind the scenes look at what goes on. Thanks to all area businesses that offer tours to area students.
This week I'm going with the kids to a Science conference in Marshall and both kids have track and field day at school. Madeline starts two weeks of swimming lessons after school today and Andrew will be starting baseball this week.

I'm looking forward to being at Cost Cutters in Willmar's Kandi Mall from 4 to 6 today (Thursday 5/9/13)broadcasting live for our Locks of Love event. Thank you to everyone who made an appointment to donate 10 inches or more of hair. You're doing a great thing for kids dealing with medical hair loss.
Today is my Friday. I'm off tomorrow to go with Madeline's 2nd grade class on their field trip. This is a busy time of year with all the end of school year activities starting. I'll be gone a couple more days this month for school trips, etc. The toughest part is trying to keep our schedules straight.

1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than Dad.
What would it take to make your mom perfect?
1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
2. Diet. You know her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.
If you could change one thing about your Mom, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
2. I'd make my Mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did it and not me.
3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

Voting is now open to decide which of four videos made by Minnesota teens will be named the best in this year's "Buckle Up and Pay Attention, Teens!" campaign. The videos were made in an effort to cut down on dangerous teen driving habits, such as texting while driving and driving distracted. The winning teens will receive one-thousand dollars and see their spot aired during the MTV Video Awards this summer. The contest is co-sponsored by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and Triple-A. Watch the videos here and click HERE to vote.
Chris Kelly, one-half of the 1990s rap duo Kriss Kross, is dead. Kelly -- who went by the nickname "Mac Daddy" -- was reportedly found "unresponsive" inside his home in Atlanta Wednesday evening and was later pronounced dead. Kelly and Chris Smith were discovered by producer Jermaine Dupri at a shopping mall in 1990. Under Dupri's guidance, the duo known as "Mac Daddy" and "Daddy Mac" released their first album "Totally Krossed Out" in 1992. The album's cover featured the pair wearing their clothes backwards. "Totally Krossed Out" spawned several hits for the duo including their eight-week number one smash "Jump" that helped drive the album to the top of the Billboard 200 chart.
