Tim at the Governor's Pheasant Opener

Tim here,
The first ever Governor's Pheasant Opener is this weekend in 'my town' of Montevideo! And I got an invite (well, I asked for an invite)! Aside from a few attempts at goose hunting in the 90s, pheasant hunting is the only hunting I do, and have enjoyed it since I first learned to shoot a gun in junior high.
The DNR says the pheasant population is about as bad as it has been in 10 years, but hopefully, hunting on private land with guides will scare up a few.
I can't help but wonder if the pheasant opener poses any security concerns. I mean, at the fishing opener, what's the worst a person could do...toss bait at the governor?? It's a given that media representatives are showing up from all over the state with guns! Do you think they've done a background check on me? I hope it comes up clean...except for that toilet paper incident in 1981!
