Sunday, July 6, 2008 - Harkin Store Event
1 pm to 4 pm, Harkin Store by New Ulm
The Harkin Store will be open on Tuesdays through Sundays thru the summer from 10 am to 5 pm with the gift shop the same hours. They host programs each Sunday from 1 to 4 pm as follows:
* Sunday, July 6: The historic Harkin Store will celebrate our great nation with the firing of a cannon and refreshments. The New Ulm Battery will start off the afternoon with the firing of the old 1862 cannon every half hour and on the hour along with enjoying cold treats. Bring your lawn chair or blanket or sit on the porch for a relaxing afternoon.
Harkin Store is located nine miles northwest of New Ulm on Nicollet County Road 21 and is operated by the Nicollet County Historical Society.

This "Drive In" Event is put on by the Buffalo Lake-Hector Area Lutheran Youth. The menu includes grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, root beer and root beer floats. The funds raised will be used for their trip in July of 2009 to the ELCA National Youth Gathering in New Orleans.

A 150-mile motorcycle memorial ride to honor Brent Koch, Kyle Miller and Josh Schmit from Willmar American Legion and end up in Redwood Falls at the American Legion. Registration begins at 8:30 am, take off at 10:30 am, $20.00 per person to ride. There will also be raffles. All proceeds will go towards sholarships in the soldier's names.
