Side Effects
Rooney Mara stars as Emily, a woman racked with anxiety when her husband, Martin, returns from prison in "Side Effects." After a session with her psychiatrist, played by Jude Law, he prescribes a new anti-anxiety drug called Ablixa that has unexpected side effects. Emily blacks out and wakes to find a dead body in her apartment. She's the prime suspect, but there's plenty of blame to go around. Police unravel the strings and find that the drug's side effects may have contributed to the crime. The authorities must then decide whether Emily intended to commit murder, or if she's a victim of the drug's side effects. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Channing Tatum also star in this Steven Soderbergh film. "Side Effects" is rated R.
Beautiful Creatures
Ethan and Lena are two star-crossed lovers who discover that their families have a long past in the supernatural love story "Beautiful Creatures." Lena, a mysterious young woman, gifted with extraordinary supernatural powers, moves to Ethan's town. When she stumbles upon a crypt of family secrets, she realizes there are forces beyond her that could prevent the normal life she wants to start with Ethan. Emma Thompson plays Lena's mother Sarafine, who is attempting to persuade her daughter to use her powers for evil. She also plays another evil character, Lena's teacher Mrs. Lincoln who plots to get her expelled from high school. Alden Ehrenreich, Emmy Rossum, Viola Davis and Jeremy Irons also star. "Beautiful Creatures" is rated PG-13.
Parker
Jason Statham plays a professional thief taking revenge on his former crew in the crime thriller "Parker." Parker lives by a certain moral code - only stealing from the very rich and hurting only those who deserve it. When his crew double-crosses him in the middle of a heist, he becomes obsessed with revenge and travels to Palm Beach where they are planning their biggest con yet. He enlists the help of Leslie, played by Jennifer Lopez, who helps him devise a strategy to hijack their score and make off with it themselves. Nick Nolte, Clifton Collins Jr and Wendell Pierce also star. "Parker" is rated R.
The Last Stand
Arnold Schwarzengger is Ray, a border-town sheriff who must deal with his inexperienced staff in a crisis in the action movie, "The Last Stand." When a cartel leader escapes from prison, Ray has to prepare his clan of misfit cops to take on the challenge. When his team can't get it together in time to intercept the drug kingpin's escape plan through their town, Ray takes it upon himself to make sure justice is served. Forest Whitaker and Johnny Knoxville also star. "The Last Stand" is rated R.
Stand Up Guys
A group of aging con men try to get the old gang back together after decades in the comedy "Stand Up Guys." Academy Award winners Al Pacino, Christopher Walken and Alan Arkin play good humored criminals who have worked together on many shady operations during their long friendship. Pacino's character Al, who has just been released from prison, knows that Walken's character Doc has been ordered to kill him - so the three decide to enjoy one last hurrah. Julianna Margulies and Mark Margolis also star. "Stand Up Guys" is rated R.
Struck By Lightning
Chris Colfer plays an overachieving aspiring writer who blackmails his high school classmates to write for his literary magazine in "Struck By Lightning." Colfer's character Carson gets killed by a bolt of lightning in a parking lot before coming back to recount the story of how he inspired a group of popular kids to think beyond the limited constraints of high school life into their futures. By digging up dirt and using it against them, he allows them to see their own potential. Rebel Wilson, Dermot Mulroney and Allison Janney also star.
